This Firefighter Hero WOD is dedicated to Stephen Harrell who was killed on September 11, 2001. He was one of the first firefighters to respond to the disaster as the lieutenant on duty at Ladder Co. 10, which was located across the street from the World Trade Center.

Mr. Harrell was last seen between Tower 1’s 30th and 40th floors. His brother, Lt. Harvey Harrell of Rescue. Co. 5 in Concord, also died at the World Trade Center.

The workout was created by 555 Fitness (@555fitness) as one of 343 “Honor WODs” – one for each of the 343 New York City Fire Department members killed in the 9/11 attacks.

The CrossFit “Stephen Harrell” WOD is as follows:

With a running clock, complete the prescribed work in the order written as quickly as possible for 7 rounds.

The total number of thrusters completed in the seven rounds will be your score. Each round of thrusters must be completed without interruption; once the athlete sets the bar down, the round is over.

7 Rounds for Time

  • 5 Overhead Squats (95/65 lb)
  • Max Thrusters (95/65 lb)
  • 2 minute Rest
