Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She learned music at a young age, and by the time she was a teenager, she was performing onstage in New York City clubs. Stefani studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21, through the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, before dropping out to pursue a career in music.
After Def Jam Recordings canceled her contract, she worked as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, where she signed a joint deal with Interscope Records and KonLive Distribution in 2007. The following year, Lady Gaga made her breakthrough with her debut studio album, “The Fame,” and its chart-topping singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Her five succeeding studio albums all debuted atop the US Billboard 200.
Lady Gaga Workout Routine
Lady Gaga trains at least five days weekly to improve muscle strength and endurance, sometimes more if she is prepping to go on tour. She’s been working with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak for years, focusing on staying fit and improving her stage presence. Harley told Elite Daily that the singer has never needed to lose weight. “I remember the first time she came by, she was teeny tiny. She’s petite,” he says. “This is not someone that needed to lose weight. She dressed like a Jean-Paul Gaultier ad from the ‘80s, like so cool, and just woah. There’s presence.”
The Popstar follows a workout routine that includes pilates, boxing, yoga, and plenty of ab exercises. She mentioned using this routine to manage her fibromyalgia, a chronic (long-lasting) disorder that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body, as well as fatigue and trouble sleeping. According to experts, low-impact exercises like stretching, relaxation, walking, swimming, biking, and water aerobics can help reduce the severity of fibromyalgia symptoms.
Since she gets most of her cardio from practicing and performing, she does strength training five times a week for at least 35 minutes a session, focusing on abs exercises. Bicycle crunches are one of her go-to moves; she aims for six sets of 20 reps. Getting a sculpted butt is another priority for Gaga. To sculpt stronger glutes, she performs six sets of 20 skater lunges. The diva tones her thighs by doing six sets of 20 reps of reverse lunges while holding a 10-pound weight in each hand above the knees. She does six sets of 20 overhead dumbbell triceps extensions, and lateral dumbbell raises to tighten her arms.
Lady Gaga also loves hot yoga, which she began doing while still a student at NYU in 2004, according to her teacher at the time, Tricia Donegan. She enjoys the physical benefits of yoga, but she also values how it helps boost her mental health by lowering stress hormones and increasing beneficial brain chemicals such as endorphins. In addition to yoga, her fitness program includes SoulCycle workout, which combines HIIT, resistance training, and strength training while riding a stationary bike to the beat of the music.
The 36-year-old takes her recovery routine seriously to reduce inflammation and swelling, relieve sore muscles, and aid in exercise recovery. After every workout, Lady Gaga does the same ritual to help her body rebound: “ice bath for 5–10 min, hot bath for 20, then compression suit packed with ice packs for 20, ” she shared on Instagram.

Lady Gaga Diet Plan
Lady Gaga follows the “5-Factor World Diet” which is more of a lifestyle plan than a strict diet. Each part of the plan revolves around the number five. You’ll eat five with 5-ingredient meals daily and do 25-minute workouts (consisting of five, 5-minute segments) five times a week. Each meal has five food groups: protein, like lean meats and fish; complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains and vegetables; fiber, including beans; healthy fats and sugar-free drinks.
Her chef and lifelong friend, Bo O’Connor, knows exactly what she eats; they grew up together, both pursuing their dreams. “She’s always been into the arts, and I’ve always been into food, so we did both things together,” he told The New Potato. “In high school, I’d have dinner parties at my apartment and I’d cook a bunch of different things and make a mess of my parent’s kitchen and she would always be involved.”
According to O’Conner, Gaga eats healthy meals while touring, which is crucial for a successful performance. She avoids anything that is ultra-processed or made with white flour. “Tour cooking is really situational, and mostly healthy. She and her team work their butts off, physically and otherwise. Probably the favorite go-tos were half-cheat meals like gluten-free pastas and dishes with lots of vegetables and quinoa… she’s really disciplined on tour. At home though, with her hair down, whether I’m cooking or we’re going out, she’ll usually pick Italian.”
For Breakfast, Lady Gaga enjoys smoothies and considers them easy to fill up quickly. If she isn’t having a smoothie, she eats eggs with a lot of vegetables. Occasionally she’ll have Greek yogurt with fresh fruit or granola. If the star craves something sweet, Bo will make her a healthier version of French toast. Whole-grain pretzels, GG crispbread crackers, rice crisps, health bars, nuts, and baked chips are among her favorite snacks. She alternates between sweet and savory snacks, such as bittersweet chocolate or a squeeze pack of almond butter.
The star’s typical lunch or dinner consists of something like quinoa with black beans, grilled shrimp, and veggies. She focuses on meals that are nutritious, filling, and high in fiber. Stefani often fills up on salads. “She definitely will always have a salad throughout the day whether it’s for lunch or dinner,” O’Connor told People. “The salad can be different and change; it doesn’t always have to be super lettuce-based, rather it can have other components that are a little bit more satisfying.”
Lady Gaga also ensures to stays hydrated through rehearsals and performances. On the road, she drinks a lot of tea, fresh coconut water, and fresh green juice, O’Connor told The Feast. “She didn’t drink processed juices and stuff like that; if she were to drink juice, it would be a green juice that we made fresh with kale and spinach and celery and cucumbers, parsley, lemon.”
Here’s what she eats on a typical day:
- Breakfast: scrambled eggs with vegetables or Greek yogurt with fresh fruit.
- Lunch: avocado salmon salad.
- Dinner: gluten-free or quinoa pasta with veggies and grilled shrimp.
