Jennie Kim, better known by her stage name Jennie, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and fashion icon. Born and raised in South Korea, she studied in New Zealand for five years before returning to her homeland in 2010. JenJen made her debut as a member of the YG Entertainment girl group Blackpink in August 2016. In November 2018, Jen made her debut as a solo artist with the single “Solo”. Commercially, the song was a success, topping both the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. In 2023, she will make her acting debut as Jennie Ruby Jane in the HBO series The Idol.

Of course, everyone is curious to learn Jennie’s secret to maintaining a small, athletic frame. In an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea in 2018, she emphasized that finding a routine that works for you will make you happier in the long run. Jen was already relatively thin when she first entered the spotlight, so her weight was not an issue in the industry. But as the years passed, she gradually shed more weight, reducing her plump cheeks and enhancing her face’s definition.

Kim has a busy schedule with vocal exercises, dance practices, perfecting tracks, and recording songs, but that has not stopped her from staying in shape. In fact, she stated on Instagram that she works out every day, even during the Lunar New Year holiday. Aside from dance rehearsals, which burn many calories, Jennie enjoys flying yoga and Pilates. She started them five years ago because she was tired of only doing one type of workout. It seems she loves Pilates, as she has posted numerous photos of herself in impressive poses on her Instagram account.

The superstar works out seven days a week for one to two hours, focusing on the Pilates program. She also practices her dancing moves with her team. Pilates helps her improve core strength, build muscles, increase flexibility, boost energy, prevent injury, maintain a healthy weight, and relieve tension in her shoulders, back, and legs. Her favorite exercises include child’s pose, teaser, pendulum, plank leg lift, hip dips, and criss-cross.

Jennie Diet Plan

Compared to other BLACKPINK members, Jennie is more cautious and makes a considerable effort to keep a healthy and balanced diet. Her meals contain lean proteins, whole grains, organic vegetables, and fruits. She swells a lot when she eats salty foods, so she follows a low-sodium diet to stay in shape. The 26-year-old told Cosmopolitan Korea that she follows a strict diet. Even if the other members of BLACKPINK are eating something delicious, she will only eat porridge because she is on a no-salt diet.

Kim mentioned that she frequently eats a quick breakfast of fruit or whole-grain toast before working out. She prefers something light and healthy for lunch, usually an avocado salad. For dinner, Jennie drinks mostly detox juice and eats porridge. Her detox juice contains celery, carrots, blueberries, bananas, chia seeds, lemon, apple, orange, count water, and pineapple. Jen also avoids snacking at night to eat a larger portion the following day.

  • Breakfast: olive oil scrambled eggs with tomatoes, whole-grain bread, and fresh fruit salad.
