This hero workout is dedicated to Spc. Donald L. Wheeler Jr. (“DJ”), who was killed in action in Tikrit, Iraq, on October 13, 2003. He was the gunner on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when it was attacked by a rocket-propelled grenade.

He was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

This workout was designed by Patrick and Taylor Wheeler, brother and sister-in-law of Donald L. Wheeler Jr.

With a running clock, complete the prescribed work in the order written as quickly as possible for 13 rounds. 13 Air Squats, 13 Push-Ups, 13 Reverse Crunches, and 13 Dips must be completed by the athlete. To finish the workout, complete the 4-minute Plank Hold cash-out. Spend a total of 4 minutes in the Plank Hold position. Break from the Plank Hold as needed, but don’t count the rest time toward the 2-minute goal.
