This Hero WOD was designed in memory of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. On that morning, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners flying from the northeastern United States to California.
The hijackers were divided into three groups of five hijackers each, with one group of four hijackers. Each group had one hijacker who had completed flight training and assumed control of the aircraft. Their explicit goal was to crash each plane into a prominent American building, resulting in mass casualties and partial or total destruction of the targeted structures.
This is a variation of a Tribute WOD from the CrossFit forum that was originally attributed to CrossFit Bel Air @crossfitbelair (Forest Hill, MD) in 2013. The version shown here was later modified as a tribute workout by GoRuck @goruck in 2021.
